WinGD is looking for a

(Location: China) Test Engineer Prototype Commissioning 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, organisation, and execution of large 2-stroke engine commissioning activities at Licensee sites, primarily in China, but also globally as required.
  • Close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including Licensees, shipyards, and classification societies, to ensure smooth commissioning processes.
  • Preparation of detailed commissioning plans, including resource allocation, equipment readiness, and logistical arrangements.
  • Coordination of commissioning documentation, ensuring accurate records for each project phase.
  • On-site leadership during engine commissioning, managing the expert team and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the process.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during commissioning, working closely with engineering and design teams.
  • Compilation of comprehensive commissioning reports, documenting results, deviations, and recommendations for improvements.
  • Contribution to continuous improvement of commissioning processes, standardisation of best practices, and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum BSc degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Marine engineering, Mechatronics, or similar discipline
  • Analytical and structured way of working
  • Resilient, and ability to stay calm during hectic situations whilst keeping a full overview
  • Knowledge and experience with combustion engines, preferably 2 stroke marine engines
  • First management and leadership experience desired, but not must.
  • A good level of English, both written and spoken
