Digital R&D Manager (m/f/d) 80-100%

We are looking for an experienced R&D Project Manager to drive internal development projects within BU Digital Solutions. In this role, you will translate product roadmaps into executable project plans and coordinate cross-functional teams from concept validation through release readiness. You will manage the periodic release cycle of our WiDE software, ensuring clear milestones, reliable delivery, and transparent communication. Working with Product Management, Solution Engineering & Support, Data Analytics, and other stakeholders, you will help turn innovative ideas into robust digital solutions.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Translate product roadmaps and priorities into structured project plans covering scope, timelines, dependencies, resources, and deliverables.
  • Lead internal R&D and development projects from concept validation and prototyping through integration and deployment readiness.
  • Plan and coordinate periodic WiDE software releases, including design and feature freezes, review cycles, readiness assessments, and release meetings.
  • Align cross-functional stakeholders on priorities, scope, timelines, resource allocation, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
  • Identify and manage technical, integration, resource, and schedule risks while ensuring appropriate validation, testing, and quality standards.
  • Provide transparent status reporting, maintain project and release documentation, and track delivery performance against roadmap milestones and agreed KPIs.

 

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least five years of project management experience in technology, R&D, or product development environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cross-functional development or innovation projects and translate product roadmaps into executable plans.
  • Practical experience with Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies; PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certification is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with experience using tools such as Jira or OnePlan.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English; German and additional languages are beneficial.
