The role ensures fast, technically sound support for Product Care and Lifecycle Operations, drives root‑cause analysis for systemic issues, and provides a critical engineering bridge to R&D, Engineering, and engine builders. The position creates the technical depth needed to stabilise fleet performance, reduce CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) and strengthen customer confidence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a multi‑disciplinary Task Force team (RCA specialist, data engineer, senior engineers) providing rapid support for complex lifecycle cases
  • Ensure fast mobilisation and structured handling of high‑impact customer issues escalated from Product Care and Warranty
  • Drive systematic root‑cause analysis and ensure robust technical findings for Engineering, Product Management and R&D
  • Collaborate closely with R&D and Engineering to validate hypotheses, confirm design‑related issues and accelerate implementation of corrective measures
  • Coordinate with LPC CN/KR and local engineering resources to gather field data, reproduce issues and support on‑site interventions when needed
  • Work closely with Product Care to ensure consistent communication, issue transparency and aligned messaging towards engine builders and owners
  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting and knowledge capture for all Task Force activities, feeding learnings into lifecycle and design improvements
  • Monitor systemic issues, support prioritisation and contribute to reducing recurrence through structured improvement loops
  • Promote a proactive, solution‑oriented and customer‑centric mindset within the Task Force and across Lifecycle Operations

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Energy Systems or a comparable technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, product support, field service, R&D support or lifecycle operations in a complex industrial or marine environment
  • Strong hands‑on technical background in engine systems, ideally including 2‑stroke engines and/or future‑fuel technologies
  • Proven experience in root‑cause analysis and systemic problem solving (e.g. RCA, CAPA/8D), including validation of corrective measures
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary expert teams under time pressure
  • Experience working across R&D, Engineering, Product Care, Warranty and local organisations (LPCs)
  • Comfortable with direct customer interaction, including technical discussions with engine builders and owners
  • Structured, analytical and solution‑oriented mindset, with a strong focus on execution and results
  • Fluent in English; German and/or Mandarin are a strong plus; willingness to travel internationally
