Product Manager Engines 

 

Position Overview:

The Product Manager is responsible to drive the success of a specific product or product line within the organization. In this position you would be responsible for the DF LNG product portfolio. This role involves developing and executing strategies to ensure the product's competitiveness, profitability, and market success. The role requires a combination of strategic thinking, market knowledge, and technical acumen to drive product success and ensure alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the product's strategic plan in alignment with the organization's overall objectives, focusing on achieving financial targets according to the established plan.
  • Drive product growth by identifying market opportunities, enhancing product features, and optimizing pricing strategies to maximize revenue and market share.
  • Create and maintain a detailed product roadmap, ensuring clear communication of priorities and timelines to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, R&D, and customer operations to ensure seamless product development, launch, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage the product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, including product roadmap planning, product and feature prioritization, and product performance monitoring.
  • Prepare business cases to justify decisions on new products, features, and configurations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and suppliers, to gather feedback, address concerns, and drive product improvements.
  • Manage product portfolio budget ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to maximise ROI.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity within the product team to drive product excellence and customer satisfaction.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering (BSc, MSc or equivalent)
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • 10 years of experience in marine engine business with detailed knowledge of marine engine technology
  • Proven track record of managing a product portfolio and driving strategic initiatives
  • Structured approach to problem solving
  • Ability to summarise complex topics presenting them in clear and concise format
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Pro-active and self-driven
  • Ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Willingness to travel
