Superintendent Technical Engineer 

 

 

Location: Cyprus

Workload: 100%

Starting date: 1.7.2026 or tbd

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with ship owners, ship managers, operators, shipyards, and other key stakeholders in the maritime sector.
  • Participate in regular customer meetings to understand operational challenges, identify service opportunities, and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Provide direct on-site support during troubleshooting, inspections, service attendance, dry dock activities, and emergency situations when required.
  • Act as the first local point of contact for customers, reducing dependency on HQ and supporting the 24/7 service organization.
  • Strengthen the company’s visibility and reputation within the Cyprus maritime market through active engagement with the local marine community.
  • Maintain close cooperation with Warranty, Product Care Management, Technical Support, and Field Service teams.
  • Participate in regular internal coordination meetings and provide operational feedback from the field to improve product reliability and service quality.
  • Coordinate with Technical Experts and specialized support teams whenever advanced troubleshooting or engineering support is required.
  • Support root cause investigations and follow-up actions related to technical incidents or warranty cases.
  • Identify, develop, and pursue service sales opportunities within the assigned region.
  • Prepare technical and commercial quotations for service jobs, spare parts, inspections, upgrades, and repair activities.
  • Work independently or in close cooperation with EU and Asia Field Service Coordinators to develop competitive service proposals.
  • Support contract negotiations and follow up on quotations to secure orders and maintain business growth.
  • Monitor market activity, customer needs, and competitor developments to support strategic sales initiatives.
  • Coordinate field service activities, service attendances, and subcontractor support when required.
  • Assist in planning service interventions and ensuring efficient communication between customers, service coordinators, and technical teams.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and customer requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by sharing lessons learned and field experience.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the marine engine or similar businesses
  • Expertise in engine troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational knowledge
  • Knowledge of two-stroke crosshead diesel engine technology, including maintenance and/or operation, is considered an advantage.
  • Reporting and analytical skills
  • Proficient t in English, both written and spoken
  • Proficient in MS office Applications
  • Pro-active, self-driven personality so as teamwork
